The private resort · Ahwatukee, Phoenix

South Mountain Lagoon

A heated backyard pool and spa that holds around 87 degrees, sun loungers and a fire pit, and a house guests call the best-equipped they have seen.

The home

Built for the long pool day.

The Lagoon is your own private resort. The backyard pool and spa are heated with the heat included and the water sits around 87 degrees; there are sun loungers, a fire pit, outdoor dining and floats on hand. The yard gets sun most of the day and stays private and quiet.

Inside, three smart TVs, games and a foosball table cover the evenings, and the kitchen is fully equipped with a separate coffee bar and welcome snacks waiting on arrival. Every bed has power strips and nightstands on both sides, and baby essentials are available for anyone traveling with little ones.

Smart-lock self check-in, garage parking, central A/C, a washer and dryer, free WiFi and two laptop-friendly workspaces round out the house. Ahwatukee gives easy access to South Mountain's trails, with Tempe, Scottsdale and Sky Harbor a short drive away.

“Hands-down the best place I have ever stayed at. Every detail was thought out and the home was equipped with things we didn't even realize we would need. The home looked even better than the photos, the space was spotless, and the backyard was the perfect oasis to enjoy the sun. The hosts were extremely communicative and the beds were super comfortable! 10s across the board ✨”

Husai — Seattle, WA (May 2026)

“Absolutely hands down bar none the best, most-equipped home we've ever seen! The instructions were perfect. And we loved the neighborhood — great for walking, very private and peaceful. The home was immaculate. I have never seen a place so sparkling clean in my life. Everything was perfectly arranged and labeled. There were towels, games, sunscreen, after-sun — honestly the most perfect stay. Highly recommend.”

Cascade (May 2026)

“The property is gorgeous and well located, but the real stars are the hosts — Julie & Steve exemplified incredible patience and hospitality. Their communication and attention to intricate details making this property super special are truly next-level. Could not possibly recommend this property and its awesome hosts more!”

Sean (June 2026)

“Found this hidden gem tucked away off the beaten path, and I'm so glad I did. Super modern and spotless, with plenty of room to really spread out. I loved having the pool to myself — it got sun pretty much all day. The neighborhood was wonderfully quiet, and the hosts were fantastic, always quick to respond. Still just a short ride into Scottsdale.”

Christian — Atlanta, GA (June 2026)

“Steve's place was perfect and as advertised. Lived up to our high expectations. Heated pool was awesome and the house was very clean and well-organized, stocked with any utensil or tool you might need. Pleasantly surprised how private and quiet the backyard was. Our family had a blast.”

Tyler — Calgary, Canada (April 2026)

“By far the nicest vacation rental we've stayed at over the years. The hosts took care of many little details, from light snacks when we arrived to a kitchen and separate coffee bar that had everything needed. We hope to return when we are in Phoenix.”

Lonnie — Walla Walla, WA (October 2025)

“We can't say enough positive things about S.M. Lagoon! Steve & Julie really paid attention to the details. Robustly stocked kitchen with welcome snacks, power strips and nightstands by both sides of each bed. The pool was the cleanest I've ever seen — heating made swimming in late November totally comfortable. Quick proximity to South Mountain for hiking and fast access to the airport. Baby essentials made traveling with little ones a breeze.”

Ciara (December 2025)

“My wife, daughter (4) and I had a wonderful stay. Very easy access to go anywhere! Space was clean, beds were comfy, pool was epic with warm 87-degree water!”

Liam — Anchorage, AK (December 2025)
